July 31, 2026 — Laboratory Renovation and Relocation
On July 31, 2026, the relocation and setup of the Ouchi Laboratory at the Nishi-Waseda and Honjo campuses were completed. Although some additional work and improvements are still needed, the laboratories have now begun operation.
Waseda University provides extensive shared facilities and laboratories, together with well-established training and support systems provided by dedicated technical staff. These facilities create an excellent environment in which students can learn independently and take an active role in conducting research and development.
At the Nishi-Waseda Campus, we have full access to the Materials Characterization Central Laboratory, Environmental Safety Center, Manufacturing Laboratory, the Physical Chemistry Laboratory, and shared research facilities in Building 56. We can also make extensive use of facilities at other campuses, including the Kagami Memorial Research Institute for Materials Science and Technology and the Research Organization for Nano & Life Innovation.
With access to this broad range of facilities and equipment, we now have an excellent research environment that allows us to pursue our research activities with no experimental limitations.
