April 1, 2026 — Moved to Waseda University

On April 1, 2026, We moved from the Institute of Industrial Science, The University of Tokyo, to the Graduate School of Environment and Energy Engineering, Waseda University. We will continue to engage in research and development in the fields of extractive metallurgy and metal recycling.
With the goal of securing a sustainable supply of metal resources, we will develop environmentally friendly and energy-efficient processes based on physical chemistry, thermodynamics, electrochemistry, reaction engineering, and materials science. Our research will focus on the development of extraction and recycling processes for precious metals, rare metals, and reactive metals; processes for removing impurities from base metals; and fundamental studies of metal deposition and dissolution.
We will also actively promote collaboration with industry, academia, and government, as well as international research collaboration. We sincerely appreciate your continued support and look forward to working with you.
